I come to this great site to share some treasures with all of you. These treasures I speak of are movie soundtracks and scores in which I have managed to collect here and there.*

Harold Faltermeyer - Top Gun (Expanded Motion Score)

Harold Faltermeyer, the "Grandfather" of scores to such movies as "Kuffs," "Fletch," "Beverly Hills Cop," and "Thief of Hearts," is also responsible for the unreleased score to the movie, "Top Gun." If you have the original soundtrack with various artists, you would find one track from him which would be the theme to the movie, featuring Steve Stevens. If you have the special expanded edition soundtrack, you would find another track called "Memories."

But now, as a one-time post only, here is the expanded motion picture score to "Top Gun." This score features the original, yes ORIGINAL, "Top Gun" theme, the opening to the movie without the guitars by Steve Stevens and some other movie music as well.

Although this is the expanded score, it has come to my attention that there is another track or two that is missing and/or somewhere else. If anyone else knows about this additional information, let me know.

Other than that, enjoy Faltermeyer's exhilarating sounds from this extremely rare gem!

Thanks! I've looked forever for this stuff! Now if I can only find the instrumental version to "Mighty Wings"... the track that's featured when the F-14s are dodging through the mountains.

The instrumental of "Mighty Wings" was simply titled "Dog Fight #3" and is available on some of the vinyl releases such as:

Hello Score Master! First of all, THANK YOU for posting one of the best scores to NEVER be released because Hollywood sells souls not artwork. I recently came across a track on youtube called "Flat Spin Version 2"found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6trCHECHJRM . This has "flat spin" as heard exactly in the film as "flat spin" blends into "memories". Any idea where to download a more decent high quality version that just ripping it off yourube? Thanks!
