Alan Silvestri - The Delta Force
I call this soundtrack a "single" due to the fact that there is a rare, limited-edition and out-of-print Intrada signature release somewhere out there. It is basically a fancy way of saying that this "signature" edition is the complete soundtrack, with fourteen tracks rather than eight.
This post, however, is the standard eight-track soundtrack from a compilation disc, which features music from another movie.
Despite the number of tracks, this Alan Silvestri masterpiece contains some wonderful, highly energetic sounds, including the main title theme.
Personally, I think that the theme to this movie alone would make a killer national anthem. But since we can not have our way, I figure that sharing this soundtrack would have to do.

Unbelievable that you got Intrada CD that premieres entire score in dynamic stereo sound, supervised by Alan Silvestri.
Intrada Signature Edition limited to 1000 copies! And you are the great bestower for us. We immensely thank you.
Most of the Delta Force OST concerns Silvestri's score. I found the score to be similar to Jerry's Hoosiers.
Such a quality should only be admired from Silvestri, considering he's also very gifted in producing orchestral scores.
In fact right now I can't name another composer who is able to produce such swinging synthesizer themes like The Delta Force theme, Flight of the Navigator theme and certain tracks from No Mercy (he also performed them himself).
In my personal opinion, his rhythmical talents are great as the score was disco on the one instrument by Silvestri.
It had a few good moments but it was mostly a very short phrase of 6 notes repeated twice and then 1000 times over in the action scenes.
He would build up to it in a good section and then repeat the phrase over and over a multitude of times.
Great sound! Another good one that comes to my mind is La Bionda's 'Super Snooper' fast paced action score.
Thanks a ton Score Brother!
For all those looking for the expanded score of 'The Delta Force' ---- full 14 tracks ---- here is the download link.
